Link: http://www.innovateonline.info/index.php?view=article&id=173&action=article

simSchool article in INNOVATE - Synopsis: A video game that prepares teachers for the complexities of teaching in the classroom, particularly in the areas of differentiating instruction, classroom management, and adapting teaching to multiple cognitive abilities. The authors illustrate how the game's non-player characters (i.e., the virtual students) incorporate a diverse range of cognitive, demographic, and behavioral variables that react to the player's actions. Through such a design, simSchool offers a "simulated apprenticeship" that prepares teachers to practice the informed decision making required for success in their profession.
